One of the highest ranking feedback during our PowerApps roundtable at Ignite was ability to use PowerApps offline. While mobile internet connectivity is generally available, there are multiple use cases where ability to fill forms offline is a major requirement.
Thank you PowerApps engineering team for hearing this feedback and making it a reality. PowerApps now supports offline apps. 2.0.630 version of PowerApps introduces the concept of offline apps.
Support for offline apps
When building mobile apps, one of the most common scenarios app makers face is how to enable their users be productive in situations where there is limited or no connectivity at all. This has been one of the most requested features for PowerApps to allow running apps while being disconnected and to provide some support for offline data caching. In this release of PowerApps, we are delivering the first set of improvements for app makers to achieve this. This features takes PowerApps more closer to becoming Microsoft’s new forms platform closing the gap between PowerApps and Infopath.
